I've got about gazillion things going in my head, but I also want to have the lights out in about 8 minutes. Hopefully those things will STOP so I can get some sleep. (((SIGH))) It's part of that whole "making space for rest" thingy that I've been working on this past week.
I will note that my guidepost to contemplate this week is "Hold Spirit Sacred". This feels inherently complex to me because there's the aspect of holding my own spirit sacred and realizing that it needs to be nurtured. However, there's also the aspect of holding the spirit of others who are near us sacred and respecting them as one of God's children. In truth, I'm not sure which task is harder. More to come on this topic this week as I think.
Happiness/Gratitude List, 20 July edition:
- The beauty of the Lay family singing at church this morning. It was an amazing moment, and I'm so glad that I was there to hear it.
- The canteloupe that went in our lunch salad. Yes, it was good enough to make the list.
- My new shelf in my bathroom. It is so nice to not have clutter all over the counter.
- Running into one of my favorite friends (and his wife, whom I adore) at Red Butte tonight. The fact that I really need to spend more time with my friends is becoming more and more obvious to me, as are the errors that have resulted in me not spending enough time with them.
- The Emmylou Harris concert tonight. Wow. Just wow. It just took me away.
I'm only three minutes past my goal time, so goodnight.
