Ah, working towards bedtime at what looks like a reasonable hour. This is my last night of pager-free sleep for 3 weeks, so I had best revel in it!
I have nothing significant that is new on the professional front, the Boy front, or any other front. I had a pretty mellow day, actually, with two good workouts and some quality feline time. And a nice phone conversation tonight with a friend whom I've been missing. No complaints at all about a day like this.
Happiness/gratitude list, 24 July edition:
- Getting lots of little work-maintenance tasks checked off today. I actually got more done at the office this morning than I anticipated.
- Imaginary holidays. I mean, if Utahans get "Pioneer Day", I'm happy to work and take April 21 off instead for San Jacinto Day. That's my cultural heritage, right?
- Friends who listen with their hearts. This is such a gift, and I appreciate it more every day.
- My really yummy supper- grilled chicken and polenta with nectarine-blackberry salsa. All the best summer stuff in one place!
- The tiny Princess kitty who is sitting here next to me purring. She's been a pretty loyal companion lately, and it's nice having her back to her usual sweet self (she was even sociable with her Grandpa while he was here). I did not enjoy her being sick earlier this month, and I know she didn't enjoy it either.
Back in the clinical salt mines tomorrow. Good thoughts, prayers, and funny stories appreciated....and my heart knows it will be fine. I'm just a little post-traumatic still from how awful May was. But the likelihood of a rerun of the strep infection/ broken foot/ post-strep glomerulonephritis episode is close to zero, and for that I'm also grateful.
