That's when I miss you, the moon shining on the ground

I got memed (by both Nicole and Jenn), which is probably good in that it gives me something to write about that I can do pretty quickly. I am, of course, running later than I hoped getting off of the computer tonight- mostly because I got bogged down in some financial stuff. Dealing with money makes my head spin, and not in a good way. So, here we go....

Five Habits Meme

What was I doing 10 years ago?
It was my first month of surgical internship. Wow. That seems like it was 1000 years ago, not 10. Life has changed a lot in those 10 years. All for the better, I would say. It's actually fun right now working with the people who are exactly where I was then. In fact, that's one of the coolest parts of my job.
I was 30.
And I thought I was going to be in Salt Lake for the next 6 years, not for this long....but I'm good with it.

Five snacks I enjoy in a perfect, non-weight gaining world:
Chocolate
Wine
Really, really rich ice cream
Unlimited chips, salsa, and guacamole
More chocolate ;)

Five snacks I enjoy in the real world:
Hummus with veggies
Peanut butter with various fruits
String cheese!
Protein shakes. I know, sounds icky. But I've got some good recipes and have a powder I actually like.
Cottage cheese with fruit

Five things I would do if I were a billionaire:
Start the Foundation we want for our Burn Center
Endow several scholarships for undergrad and medical students at A&M
Buy a second house in Hailey :)
Travel much more regularly and on a larger scale than what I do now- and take my friends and family with me (more Alaska! Oh, and Europe!)
Set up college funds for my gaggle of Godchildren (for the un-initiated, I have a total of 8 from 3 different families)

Five jobs I have had:

Waitress
Preschool teacher
Music coordinator
Retail sales associate
Physician

Five habits:
Bras and panties MUST match.

Unless something drastic happens and I'm on call, the kitchen is clean before I go to bed.

I tend to eat meals in front of the computer- far more than I should. It's probably because I don't watch TV.

Bedtime ritual: Floss and brush. Take off eye makeup, then wash face. Put on eye cream, antioxidant stuff, then moisturizer. Follow with hand cream.

I wake up to NPR every morning. Unless I'm not at home, then it's the alarm in the Crackberry.

Five places I have lived:
Gainesville, FL
Dallas
College Station, TX (God's Country!)
Boulder, CO
Salt Lake City

Five people I’d like to get to know better:
(Meaning you're it!)
Miss Heather, my birthday twin
V....my favorite attorney ;)
Miss Sarah (yes, Sarah G., that's you!)
Jamie, my favorite Young Aggie
Oof, I'm stuck....sorry!

And now, moving along to the usual...
Happiness/ Gratitude List, 9 July 2008 Edition
  1. I had SO MUCH FUN lecturing to the residents today about how to be a good teacher.
  2. Even though I was concerned it was going to make me late to work this morning, I walked in. I'm glad I did because it was beautiful out.
  3. I got to see one of my very, very favorite patients in clinic today. He makes my heart light, and he makes me laugh. He's a really, really amazing child and I'm blessed to know him.
  4. New great salmon recipe for supper. Check it out on my health blog (Citius, Altius, Fortius linked below for those who haven't met it, and yes, I'm being obsessive right now)
  5. I have even more apples starting on the apple tree. I'm very pleased :)
With that, to quote #3 on the gratitude list, "Peace, out."
