I'm having this weird anti-nesting thing going on. I call it anti-nesting for lack of a better description, but it amounts to purging anything that I don't use. Clothes that haven't been worn in a year or more? They're moving out. The shoes in the pile at the back of the closet? Going too. I've rearranged my shelves in the study and purged pictures that are outdated but that I've left out of habit. And there's this pile of stuff in the kitchen that the previous owner of the house left- mostly cleaning products- that I'm working on getting rid of since I don't clean (for the uninitiated before you freak out, I have someone who cleans for me). Anyway, this anti-nesting/ purging is interesting because it came on rather suddenly. I'm sure that psychological types would read some symbolism into it, and maybe it deserves some, but it's what is going on around here. Between reading and writing and cat-pestering and the usual avoidance of typical domestic activities, that is.
Happiness/ Gratitude List, 29 August 2008 edition, some of which is carry-over from Friday:
- Peanut Butter and Spreadable Strawberry, eaten in the mountain environment. Why is it that PB&J tastes so much better in the outdoors? Seriously, it does.
- My no-drive, stay-in-pajamas until 1 p.m. day that I had today. I had errands I probably should have run. I blew them off. It was worth it, and I'll take care of them on Monday.
- The Grumpy Princess- I woke up with a headache this morning, likely thanks to the front that is supposed to push through tonight/ tomorrow. I got up, took some Advil, and went back to bed. Someone decided that it was her job to lay on my pillow against my head and purr. Either the Advil or her technique worked.
- The above mentioned impending front. I love, love, love rainy Sundays. Especially when I'm on call. Oh, and the projected high for Monday is 65 with a low in the 40s. C'mon fall!
