I wanted to write a little bit tonight but I got waylaid at the Evil Empire. New admission, so Monday evening was suddenly accounted for. I'm not complaining though I'll confess I had hoped for an evening at home with the Feline Accomplices. I think Thursday is my next evening at home, Burn Gods willing. Tomorrow evening is my annual Burn Camp evening- something I always really, really enjoy. Why? Well, because of things like this:
The redhead was my patient back when I was a resident and she's pretty terrific. She was the originator at Burn Camp last year of the great, "It's just like Paris!" quote. And you can't really see the graft on her left arm here, but I did that with some good guidance from my now-practice partner.
Happiness/Gratitude List, 11 August edition:
- Walking to work with a friend this morning. This was a very good way to start the week.
- Having one of those days when I really feel like what I'm doing is making a difference for people. Those are good to have every once in a while.
- I had some quiet time to catch up on a giant pile of stuff in my office this afternoon. It was a relief- though I still feel a bit backlogged.
- Eh, that's enough for today. All in all, my life is a darn good place. I have days I get tired and start to forget that, but it really is a pretty amazing place.
