We'll sit and watch the sun go down as the waters turn to red

Tired, and I need to unpack. I would have done something pseudo-productive this evening, but I have in my hands a copy of "Comal County Blue". This will undoubtedly be the soundtrack for the week, with the exception of my Tuesday night outing to see Bonnie Raitt.

Happiness/ Gratitude List, 24 August Edition:
  1. Time with family. I know that my trip was probably the last time I'll see Elaine alive, and that makes me sad. That said, she's had a pretty amazing life.
  2. Coming home to enthusiastic kitty greetings. From both of them. I am, however, currently trapped at the desk chair thanks to Tucker Ted. If I move it back I will run him over and he's quite happily passed out on his back. I would share a photo but have no technology here at the desk to help with that. As usual, he has no dignity. None. But it's part of his charm.
  3. Having an "office" week to catch up on research. I have less than a month until our grant letter of intent is due, and that's due the same day as Burn abstracts. "What overly full plate," she asked disingenuously.
  4. The new Boland makes the list again, and again, and again. Copy is in hand, as are a few gift copies that I ordered.
