I'm just resting in the arms of the great wide open

I'm really starting to wonder where my time has gone the last couple of days. Yes, I've been getting stuff done (at what feels like a glacial pace). I think some of it is simply perception knowing that my long dash starts on Friday- well, really with Thursday night trauma call but the point is the same.

Hapiness/ Gratitude List, 2 September 2008 edition:
  1. We had a great research meeting this morning. It's a relatively small thing but it was both fun and very productive.
  2. I had a very constructive phone conversation with the program officer for the NIH Loan Repayment program this morning. I'm cautiously optimistic that the feedback I got from him can be parlayed into getting some of the work adjustments I'm crazy for made. When it's just me complaining, it's one thing. When it's NIH reviewers saying that certain issues are concerning and need to be addressed that's called "leverage" in my world.
  3. My raspberry sweater that I wore this afternoon. It just makes me happy.
  4. Cassi, 2008 winter edition. Last night when we went to bed she immediately bunkered down on my legs (her usual winter spot). So, yes, the Grumpy Princess makes the list two days in a row.
  5. Creativity. I'm grateful for creativity and for having soft places to fall with my ideas. Everyone should be so lucky.
With that, I'm headed to help with a couple of things in the burn unit.
