Apologies for missing my list (or any sort of blogging, really) yesterday. It wasn't for lack of interest- it was 2 a.m. before I got settled down to write and my internet was down from the storm that had blown through. I'm still having some technical difficulties with the laptop and I'm not sure if it's the DSL or if it's that the laptop is dying a slow death. After 3 years of trusty service and a lot of flying miles, I'm afraid it's the latter. And while I love my Dell(s), I'm having dirty thoughts of going Mac- mostly to avoid Windows Vista. That's kinda sad, isn't it?
Anyhow, onto the business of the evening since I'm already 15 minutes late going to bed. Where did my day go?!?
Happiness/ Gratitude List, 1 September 2008 edition:
- Cool weather. Seriously cool. Less than 50 when I went out to run errands at Noon. Beautiful, pleasant, and it let me wear one of my new fall jackets.
- Cool weather. This isn't just because I enjoy it- it's because it turns the Grumpy Princess into a giant snuggle. How a cat with that much fur can constantly think she's cold completely eludes me, but I value her affection.
- Lifting heavy today during my workout. When I can't move my arms to type tomorrow, y'all may need to remind me of this. But it was fun to push myself hard and see what I could do. Strong like bull and twice as smart!
- A really pleasant call night last night. Yes, my sleep got rudely interrupted at 6:15 (if only the transfer could have waited an hour). But call was pretty painless, really, and things ran smoothly. Pizza with Amy made the night.
- I decluttered an entire kitchen cabinet tonight. The prior owner of the house left lots of cleaning products in this one cabinet and I was initially loathe to get rid of them. However, I've now been here over a year and I haven't touched them once. They're gone. It was strangely cathartic to get rid of some unneccessary things. Next stop? Kitchen pantry. Oof.
