Hope just called, labs came back.
Cassi is in renal failure. It's bad and it's been brewing for a while based upon the values. She has perked up a little bit with re-hydration but still doesn't seem like she's doing great.
Hope's plan is to start her on a couple of medications and to keep hydrating her through the night tonight. Labs will be re-sent tomorrow and if they are much better AND Cassi is perking up AND she's eating then we'll bring her home and we'll just have to do fluids every few days here. It's nothing Tuck and I can't do, really, and we all know what a helper he is. If those conditions aren't met, I can't bring myself to make her suffer :(
Based upon the numbers I was hearing, and acknowledging that cat numbers and people numbers are somewhat different, I'm not optimistic.
Updates tomorrow...and I'm just going to reiterate how grateful I am that Tuckie is the sweetest boy cat ever. I would totally be in a tree without him right now. He's even pretty tolerant of getting cried onto.
