Happiness/ Gratitude List, 16 April 2009 Edition:
- Finding time to write for me for a bit this morning, sorting through some thoughts- and in so doing, refusing to own someone else's "stuff". It's not mine, and even though what that stuff is doing hurts my heart I'm accepting that it has nothing to do with me. Communication is complicated.
- A beautiful morning at Alta. The snow was far better than we deserve at this point in April.
- Having my BlackBerry break at a time when I don't direly need it anyway. I know that sounds crazy, but honestly- far better now than when life is chaotic and I'm on clinical service.
- My foot keeping me home from the MS150. I need to be here right now, at some intangible level. Besides that there's a 60%+ chance of severe thunderstorms on Saturday. I do not ride in thunderstorms. Period. If you're a praying sort, please send one up for safety of all the riders- all 13000 of them (no, there aren't extra zeroes in there).
- A wonderful mentoring/ socializing session with one of my mentees tonight. I'm proud to know him, and proud to be partially responsible for the surgeon I hope he'll "grow up" to be.
