Wait- do you see my heart on my sleeve?

Travel How did you travel in 2010? How and/or where would you like to travel next year?
Although getting to most of the places required airplanes, I spent a great deal of time traveling and exploring on foot in 2010. I walked miles and miles in Istanbul, Bodrum, and in Paris- a city I'm convinced is one of the best places on Earth to walk (though I may just be romanticizing it). I was in New York during the heart of my training for the 3-day, and while I didn't love the 100+ degree heat indices, I truly enjoyed the access to Central Park for getting my mileage completed. And the culmination of all of the walking was, of course, the 3-day itself in Seattle. A little rain, a little sun, and a wonderful experience.
I'll openly admit that I am incredibly antsy to get back to Alaska to run another river, but I'm not sure that's consonant with my goal of living with a b-u-d-g-e-t this year. I may just be faced with lots more walking, and I'm okay with that- it's been a great way to see some fascinating places.

Beautifully Different. Think about what makes you different and what you do that lights people up. Reflect on all the things that make you different – you’ll find they’re what make you beautiful.
I've finally come to terms with the fact that when I'm at my most authentic, being the most "me" I can be is when I'm also able to bring out the best in people around me. Who is that me? She's a little silly, a little irreverent, a lot creative, only structured when she has to be, and believes that love and hope will conquer anything. I see people lighting up in my teaching, in my clinical care, in my music when "That Girl" shows up.. Who would have thought that it is, in theory, so easy to get others excited just by being sincere in your own passions?
