It's been a fabulous Friday with several hours of hammock time. Bliss, pure bliss, I tell you. Eoin Finn is on to something with his hammock enlightenment.
Today I am trusting that I'll be able to find my voice in the next couple of weeks that will let me re-direct some things that I see are broken. Yes, I'm tilting at windmills again. No, I don't want to be in charge of all of it. Yes, I'm willing to provide very specific suggestions on where things should go- and I'll even help. I just don't want to be in charge.
Today I am grateful for afternoons like today.
Today I am inspired by the lovely and courageous Marianne Elliott. Sure, I respect anyone who can provide an R-rated reminder to "f***ing take care of yourself", something I too easily forget. This week she simply put a call out there grounded in her heart's wish to raise $20,000 for Suraya Pakzad's work in Afghanistan that provides education for girls- this, in a country where women haven't been educated for many years and with an illiteracy rate of approximately 75%. Suraya is doing brave work for women, and I chose to support her to honor a woman who has influenced my life for Mother's Day. Read more about Suraya and her work at Marianne's website, or just go to To Mama With Love to donate. My Mama thought it was the perfect Mother's Day gift/ honor.
