They just tumble in the breeze lighter than a feather

No, you didn't miss last week- I did. I was traveling and had good intentions. You see how those intentions worked out. Travel was wonderful, though, and put me back together in a way that it hasn't in a long time. So here's tonight, and I'll follow Sunday or Monday with my "44 by 44" list that I'm working on.

Today I am trusting in a shift I've sensed over the last couple of weeks. I'm still willing to be patient with it, but I think I've felt a big opening. We shall see.

Today I am grateful for three unstructured days this weekend. I know I'll be working on some research-related stuff on Monday, but I'm taking the next two days OFF. Because I can.

Today I am inspired by the words and music of Steve Earle. I've been enjoying his new album since NPR put it up for a First Listen. A good friend gave me his novel today and I simply can't wait to sink my teeth into it. Someone who tells story as well as he does in song can't help but be a good storyteller on paper- especially if that story occurs in San Antonio and involves the ghost of Hank Williams.

Today I have faith. Period. And it's enough.
