Trying to get myself into a new space, trying to figure out what's important for me on Day 1 of a new year. Besides, of course, a workout (which I haven't yet gotten around to at 815 PM...that's next).
Important things for 2012 that I would like to share, if you will-
1. Word of the year: "Grace." I actually chose this word a few months ago and put together a vision board with a glittery version of the word, a number of quotes about grace, and some photos that struck me as having beautiful color and/ or beautiful locations.
Last month I actually had thoughts of changing my word to something more in line with growth- say, "Blossom" or "Flourish". Then the word grace kept cropping up in place after place, and I knew that it was supposed to stay.
If you don't want to strain your vision reading the Buechner quote (it's my favorite), it says this: "The grace of God means something like: You might never have been, but you are because the party would not have been complete without you." That sentiment resonates with me, and I hope to live by it a bit more readily this year.
2. My color of the year, idea compliments of Intuitive Bridge. The color is technically Pantone 1655. I affectionately refer to her as Clementine, in honor of the citrus. I suspect my sacral chakra will have something to say about this, though the color was chosen based upon intuition strictly.
Edited to add: Speaking of intuition, here's an intuitive reading of my color choice:
Amalia chose a deep clementine orange.
I love clementines. I bought the last 5 lb. bag of the season today.
These are the oranges at the bottom of the Christmas stocking. Prior to modern times, the Christmas orange was a precious, precious thing. Fresh and juicy, it stood in contrast to everything else.
Choosing this color as your color of the year means that you will experience rich creativity, fertility and sex. This is fresh, juicy, strong. There’s also a depth to this color, meaning that not only will you find yourself experiencing great creativity and connection, you’ll find yourself on a deep inward journey at the same time.
Lose yourself in the creative process, especially creative acts that use your fingers. Make amazing food. Sculpt. Form. Get your fingers dirty. Don’t be intimidated by your own juiciness, and don’t let anybody else intimidate you about it either. . You are going to surprise yourself, as you stand in vibrant contrast to everyone around you, and are appreciated for it, like a clementine in winter.
Happy, 2012, friends. May the coming year bring joy, beauty, courage, and love. And, of course, grace.
