Why spend your only life waiting to have what you know you can have?

Yes, I know that I missed last week.  It was Thursday before I was in a position to change that, so I figured I would just wait for this week's Friday instead.

Today I am trusting that I can muddle through 7 more days of deadlines and craziness.  I recently realized that next weekend is my first weekend that consists of nothing but down time in...well, ages.  "Giddy" is only partially descriptive of how I feel about that.

Today I am grateful for some friends who have been nothing short of amazing lately.  Thank you.

Today I am inspired by Karen Walrond's International Women's Day post.  She hit it out of the park.  #10 maybe should have been #1, based upon some discussions I was involved in today. Women shouldn't be avoiding careers in academic surgery simply because "it's too hard as a woman."  This speaks to a broken system, and one that needs to be fixed yesterday.

With that, bedtime.  I have an early date with me in the hotel gym.
