She watched it as it flew...It felt like the right thing

Only a couple of days late, as is becoming the norm for me (it seems).  Then there's that issue of the "45 by 45" list that I still haven't generated, which may be done by the end of the month (I hope!).  I have a rough draft going somewhere around here that just lacks 20 or so items...

Today I am trusting that this little productivity streak from the last week will persist.  I've accomplished quite a bit.  I have quite a bit more to do before the students start back on July 2.

Today I am grateful for a peaceful weekend with plenty of outdoor time walking.  Sure, it's the height of 3-day training season for me so it was relatively necessary if I'm going to be ready for Boston in just under 6 weeks.  It was beautiful, if a bit warm, and I'm grateful for the chance to enjoy the outdoors- particularly with the great company of my Dad.

Today I am inspired by the end of another academic year/ the beginning of another academic year.  Last night was our annual Chief Resident dinner, and it's always wonderful to look at how far the people there have come over the prior 6 years.  It's also humbling to remember my own Chief Resident dinner 8 years ago.  Some days it feels like it was last week.  Other times- most of the time- it feels like a lifetime ago.
