So I'll just lie here wondering if tomorrow is someday

I missed last Friday with traveling and whatnot; I spent the evening on the Acela between DC and NYC, and I'll just say that Amtrak's advertising that they have wireless is a soft truth.  They do, technically, have wireless.  It is VERRRY slow, however.

With that "full of excuses" preface, here's my TGI from the last couple of weeks.

Today I am trusting some processes I've put in place for myself (re: food responsibility and financial responsibility).  It's time for the 3-5 pounds per year that I've accumulated each year for the last 4-5 years to come off, bit by bit.  It's also time for me to actually understand my finances in a way that allows me to have better control (as opposed to my usual Zen Financial Management style, which is worry-free but isn't truly informed and responsible).  Considering that Weight Watchers seems to be working for the food responsibility, it's making me wish there were something so straightforward in the financial realm.   I suppose for me it would need to be "Shoe Watchers" or "Tote/ Purse Watchers".

Today I am grateful for a couple of wonderful- and unexpected- recognitions I've received this week for my commitment to teaching and education.  Education is often marginalized in medicine, and in surgery in particular, and it's always good to be reminded that people do notice and that it does, indeed, make a difference.

Today I am inspired by courage...daring...bravery...however you want to name it.  The idea that we can all be bigger and better than our comfortable expectations of ourselves gives me tremendous amounts of hope.
