A brief Friday TGIF since I'm up a bit later than I prefer on a work/ call night.
Today I am trusting in things that are bigger than I am. This applies to many, many parts of my life, both professional and personal.
Today I am grateful for friendships that patiently wait when other parts of life are too busy. It's wonderful to know that when the dust finally settles that we can pick right up (and that we've missed one another in the in-between).
Today I am inspired by so many things I've been reading lately. Brené Brown's Daring Greatly has something that makes me stop and ponder in every single chapter, challenging me to continue my tilting at windmills (because that's who I am and what I do- and sometimes I win against the windmills!). Buddhist philosophy (Turning the Mind into an Ally) provides plenty to consider, particularly as I review the paramita of generosity. So many words out there with such amazing implications- it's a good reminder that while I seek those words that lead to betterment, that words can also be equally destructive. Choose wisely.
And with that, it's my past-bedtime bedtime.
Now listening: The Departed "Prayer for the Lonely" (Seth James' voice on this makes me melty. The story behind the song, which he wrote when he was surrounded by lots of loss in his life, is inspiration. It's worth listening to every word.)Labels: TGIF
