Friday, and I'm home, and I'm very happy to be here. For seven weeks I'll be here, by my count. After the whirlwind of the last few weeks, I'm happy to take a break from my suitcase. And while Delta has been an awesome friend (no, really, they've been great), I'm happy to get about on foot, on skis, and in car for a bit.
Today I am trusting that this refinancing of the house business will get worked out this week. I got all of the paperwork for the dispute of the appraisal in today, so now I wait. I'm not completely attached to it happening but it would be nice for the obvious reasons.
Today I am grateful for the above-mentioned travel break. There really is no place like home and it will be nice to get back into my usual patterns of things (workouts with all my gear available, (homemade) meals entirely of my choosing, morning dogwalks, etc.). Besides, I miss these ridiculous animals that share this house with me. They're pretty terrific.
Today I am inspired by Barking up the Wrong Tree, which I stumbled across recently. It's got all sorts of interesting bits on leadership, productivity, etc. I'm particularly fond of this week's piece on, "Is being busy the secret to happiness?" If you know me well, you know that I love my busy life. You also know that I loathe busy deadlines, so what he wrote really resonates with me. I also HIGHLY recommend the 10 things you should do every day to improve your life. There's a great deal of wisdom in there, and I try my best to do all of them...though meditating is a work in progress if you know what I mean.
Happy Friday friends. Make your weekend a special one.
