I'm pretty sure I mentioned last week how glad I was to be home. A week later, still glad. Tucker has been all-but-glued to me for the last week, including "helping" with my workouts a couple of mornings. Let it suffice to say that his version of helping, while very sweet, isn't actually helpful; it's hard to dodge a cat that's head-butting your leg while you're trying to do a side lunge.
Today I am trusting that I'll continue to be comfortable in this place I'm hanging out right now (metaphorically speaking). It's that place where I know that I am doing the right things and feel empowered by that- and because of it, I simply can't be rattled. It's kinda fun to not get riled up about stuff, and it's definitely a happier way of doing things.
Today I am grateful for the tribe I've built around myself. I was sitting at dinner on Monday night with our education research group when I realized how truly, remarkably fortunate I am to have landed in a microcosm founded on passion for our work, goodness, and integrity. Those qualities in a group turn work into nothing but joy.
Today I am inspired by Ze Frank. This is a few months old, and I have Chookooloonks to thank for introducing it to me recently. If you might be sensitive to profanity, skip it. If you're ready to get past your reasons for not leaping, this is your opportunity. I'm particularly enamored with the section about the cheese monster; I've met him more than once.
