Friday night, with a retrograde Mercury. I know, I'm a scientist and I'm not supposed to believe in astrology but...well, let's just say that messed up communication seems to have been the theme of the week. Good. Grief.
Today I am trusting that next week will be less bouncy than this week. I felt like so much of my time was going into "bad work," and I have enough good and great work that I want and need to do that it was frustrating for me. So, yes, next week will be less bouncy.
Today I am grateful for the people in my life who "get" me, who love me for my passion, who just laugh and smile when my eyes light up over that idea that's going to be a project for all of us.
Today I am inspired by Texas State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Ft. Worth). If you missed news of her filibuster in the Texas Senate this week, this item will catch you up. If you want to see the beauty of modern technology (and get some cheap laughs), check out the Amazon reviews of her Mizuno running shoes she wore during the filibuster (coincidence: these are my current running shoes). While I'm excited by what she brings to the political table in my home state, I'm more awestruck at her story- married and a mom at age 19, divorced in her early 20s and barely getting by, worked her way through TCJC to a scholarship at TCU then Harvard Law. I cannot imagine what it took to get from where she started to where she is now, but I know she's a particular kind of amazing to have done what she has.
With that, this girl needs to get to bed. Early-early morning tomorrow so I can get training miles in before the heat is unbearable. Summer may excuse itself from my life at any moment.
