Let me defend these hearts that are so rarely understood

Completely beat from a couple of long/ late nights, but doing my best to get my TGI out there before I go sleep.

Today I am trusting that a good rest will be just what I need to launch into a very good weekend.  I am also trusting that Kita-dog really is getting over the hump with all of this GI bleed/ GI distress stuff that's been such an energy drain for both of us this week.

Today I am grateful that I work with some pretty amazing people every single day.  Last night was a "rock star" team kind of night.  Tonight I'm off-pager thanks to my fabulous practice partner.  It takes a village to run a damn fine burn unit- particularly this time of year.

Today I am inspired by this advice for the "oddball" kid  from the NPR blogs this week.  It's not really just for kids, though.  Trust me.  And I do find great hope in the fact that somewhere one of us will do something different that will be a game-changer.

Dream on, friends.
