Every moment of our choosing bears a cost

Yes, I know it's not actually Friday...but had I posted on Friday it would have been representative only of my delirium after 20-ish hours of travel to get home from Helsinki.  Photos to follow, I promise, once I'm settled back in a bit.  I haven't finished unpacking yet, mostly because Tucker is "guarding" my suitcase and won't get off of it.

Today I am trusting that summer is actually going to end one of these days.  I know, some of you love summer.  Let's just say that I don't and that's one of the reasons I eagerly left Texas (it's really hard to miss Texas summer).  I'm hopeful the hint of changing aspen trees I saw up by Park City 10 days ago are cause for hope.  I am ready, ready, READY for Fall- especially after walking 16 miles today mostly in 80+ degree temps.

Today I am grateful for some amazing experiences this week.  Helsinki was fabulous, particularly our "girl surgeon" sauna night that was hosted by a Finnish surgeon at her summer home.  My only regret is that I didn't make it over to Tallinn for a day.  It's a reason to go back, right? In spite of being a long, long travel (especially with a hiccup in Amsterdam yesterday) it was a wonderful week.  I'm fortunate to have these opportunities and some wonderful friends to share them with.

Today I am inspired by John Fullbright.  He plays piano.  He writes incredible songs.  He is 25 years old...and insanely talented.  Exhibit A ("reluctant love song"):

Hope you are grateful and inspired from wherever you are...
