I'll admit to being really, really tired tonight. I finally hit on the analogy for this week today: I've been trying to stuff a 90 pound baby elephant into a sack that will only hold 50 pounds. Nevertheless, I wanted to get my TGI out there to the Universe before the baby elephant gets to be a little bigger.
Today I am trusting that Boulder and the Front Range will dry out; the flooding is breaking my heart. And, I suppose I find a certain sad irony that in the same week of the year that I lost my Boulder home to fire that many there are losing theirs to floods. I can't even imagine what rebuilding is going to require.
Today I am grateful that summer seems to have finally broken...that I am able to undertake an apparently insane adventure like the one that starts on Sunday (Livvie day!)...that I have parents who aid and abet my insanity...that I get to sleep past 430 tomorrow morning...that I have truly amazing, kind, loving friends...it's a long list this week.
Today I am inspired yet again by Kid President and his Pep Talk to students and teachers. This kid is right- the world needs more hugs and high fives. What would you name your pet dinosaur? I think mine would be Beatrix.
And what do you want to teach the world? "No matter who you are, someone is learning something from you."
Now listening: Drew Kennedy "Age and Color"- I'm loving every word and note on Wide Listener, but this has been declared my Fall anthem. Labels: TGIF
