The poet does what poets do, if everything runs clean and smooth

Friday, yet again.  This year is truly flying by and I'm not entirely sure where it's gone.  I mean, October starts on Tuesday.  How did THAT happen?!?

Today I am trusting that I'll honor a commitment that I made to myself this week to slow it all down a bit.  Please support me as I say no to things that keep me from saying an enthusiastic, wholly committed yes to the things I'm the most passionate about.  I've just come to a point where I'm truly tired of burning the candle at both ends, and the only way for that to stop is for me to deliberately stop it.

Today I am grateful for those crazy, wonderful moments that remind me of the good things I'm doing- humanities day for the clerkship group, hugs in clinic from "my" kids (and sometimes their siblings, too!), random texts from former students.

Today I am inspired by this little reminder from this week:
"The most important thing in life is to do what you love- and what makes you happy."  For me, that's how Great Work is defined, and it's what I'm trying to focus on doing more.

Stay tuned- I'm hopeful that if I think to grab some photos that next week will be "Something About Olivia" week!

Now listening: "Gainesville" by Drew Kennedy.

(The video has some crowd noise from a little fan, but it's a great way to hear why I'm so smitten right now.)
