Recommendation 2 from '12, if you missed it, is "Algiers" by Calexico. If you've been in the OR with me during the last half of the year, you've heard it. It's not named for the City, but named for the district in New Orleans where they recorded the album. Epic is hands down my favorite song on the album, and the horns in this version make it all the richer. I need to catch these guys live...soon.
